Pep Treatment

Post-exposure prophylaxis, or PEP, is a way to prevent HIV infection after recent possible exposure to the virus.

PEP should be used only in emergencies and must be started within 72 hours after a recent possible exposure to HIV, but the sooner you start PEP, the better. If you think you have recently been exposed to HIV during sex, sharing needles or if you have been sexually assaulted, talk to your health care provider or an emergency room doctor about PEP right away.

$40 office visit.
