Navigating through the adoption process can often be very complex.

If you are hoping to adopt, you have come to the right place!

What to Expect…

Two Spirit’s adoption services include home studies, pre- and post-adoption counseling and assistance in arranging the legal services necessary to conclude the adoption.

Adoption takes time

Patience is truly a virtue when you are seeking to adopt a child. The orchestration of social, legal and governmental issues is sometimes frustrating and usually dependent on the skill, judgement and experience of those in whom you have placed your trust.

Two Spirit’s adoption team will complete your Home Study and all other pre-adoption requirements in a timely, efficient and professional manner.

Adoption takes commitment

Aside from the commitment to create a family, you must be willing and able to grow with your child/children as your family matures. At Two Spirit, our team of professionals will be here for continued support as you and your family grow.

Streamline the Process

At Two Spirit Adoptions, we fully support the LGBT+ community in their pursuit of adoption. As an inclusive adoption service, we support the LGBT+ community and want all prospective parents to succeed in their dream of starting or continuing a family through adoption.

Two Spirit Adoption practices ethical adoptions, supports complete diversity and provides extensive counseling to birth parents and adoptive parents in preparation for an adoption.

Two Spirit states its basic philosophy is that every child has the right, by virtue of their existence, to be raised in a healthy family environment, and every eligible adoptive family has the right to parent and raise a family.  Whenever it is apparent that an eligible child is without a family or eligible family without a child, the Agency's primary purpose comes into effect and every effort will be made to unite the two.

We will be here for you, every step of the way!

In accomplishing these goals, participants are provided with (1) high-level clinical evaluations; (2) thorough and professional home studies; (3) counseling and training for parents and adopted children; and (4) highly qualified professionals (i.e. attorneys, physicians, etc.) to assist in providing various functions required during the adoption process.

The Agency emphasizes that a great deal of time, attention, and energy of active staff personnel will be devoted to communicating with the birth parents, the prospective adoptive parents. Additionally, our agency will facilitate medical teams will be assigned to care for the birth mothers. The pediatricians who care for the children, the hospitals, the clinics and other social services organizations, will care for the children on a per-placement basis. Emphasis is also placed on communicating with all social agencies and professionals who are involved with the adoptions to assure that the most comprehensive and up-to-date information is disseminated to all concerned in this most important adoption process.

About LGBT Adoption

Recently, more and more birth parents are choosing same-sex couples over heterosexual couples. As reported on the 2000 Census, about 65,000 children lived with same sex parents. In 2012, 110,000 children live with same sex parents — nearly a 100% increase.

As an LGBT+ family, keep in mind that there may be differences in your adoption experience when compared to that of a heterosexual family. This could be due to a multitude of reasons, including laws unique to your location and finding a birth mother who is looking for a single or same-sex couple. Nevertheless, more and more LGBT+ people are adopting children who need a loving home, and you could be one of them.

As an inclusive service, we will guide you through the adoption process with understanding, sensitivity, and reliability. Our philosophy is based on one-on-one support during this sensitive time, and our experienced, knowledgeable staff will do all they can to make it as easy as possible for you.
