Electrolysis is a method of removing individual hairs from the face or body. It uses heat energy to destroy hair at it’s root. A very fine needle is inserted into the hair follicle, and the hair is removed with tweezers. Many factors influence hair growth, so multiple visits will be needed. The total number of treatments needed will vary from person to person. The average time frame for hair removal is 12 to 24 months. Most clients come in every week or every other week. Each treatment lasts between 15 minutes and one hour. The side effects are minimal.
Laser hair removal is a method that beams highly concentrated light, known as photothermolysis, into the follicle to destroy the hair. It is attracted to the melanin (pigment) of the hair which absorbs the energy, thus destroying it. It can take anywhere from 6-10 sessions to adequately reduce or remove the unwanted hair. Each session lasts from 15 minutes to one hour, depending on the size of the area being treated. Downtime after the treatments is minimal to none, and sun should be avoided one week before and after treatments to prevent hyper/hypopigmentation or blistering.
We offer $15 consultations on either service that can be applied to any service that is purchased.
