Lisa Rivero


Lisa Rivero, Medical Assistant:

Lisa comes to Two Spirit after spending the past 10 years being a strong advocate and activist for the LGBTQ community. She is past President of PFLAG Brevard, a chapter she founded. Lisa also served as a Safe Schools Coordinator of PFLAG National for many years where her focus was to create a safe space for youth in Brevard County Schools so they could get the education they deserved free from bullying and harassment. Her efforts also included educating school personnel to the needs of these students, focusing on Transgender youth. Her passion advocating for LGBTQ youth is something she holds very close to her heart. She also served on Florida Today’s Citizen Advisory Panel for two years contributing several guest columns on gay rights and issues faced by youth. She has a background working as a Medical Assistant and Phlebotomist. Her most important job however, was being a stay at home mom raising her two children. She has also done a great deal of volunteering in her community, most recently at Give Kids The World Village. Lisa is a native Floridian, born and raised in Miami. She loves music, dancing, and spending lots of time at Disney!
