Ann Currier, MA –Registered Mental Health Counselor intern:
Ann Currier has a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Webster University. She specializes in transgender issues and schizophrenia. Ann has been active in the LGBT community for over 20 years and is a member of the MBA (Metropolitan Business Association), Orlando’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce. She served on the leadership committee of the MBA RED (Referral Exchange Development) for over 2 years. She also started MBA Toastmasters to help people overcome their fear of public speaking. She is very active in the T Network, a supportive networking group for transgender people and allies. Ann regularly speaks or leads group discussions at transgender events such as Day of Remembrance and immensely enjoys working with that community and providing support, information, advice, and resources regarding transition. During her practicum, Ann led support groups and provided individual therapy for schizophrenia and found that she was gifted in and inspired from working with that population. Ann helps these clients to overcome stigmas and live a more productive life. Ann has worked in the mental health field for over 15 years and is also knowledgeable about how that interacts with the legal system. She has worked at BHC Assessment and Consulting for over 3 years and loves helping clients overcome their fears, solve problems, and live their most authentic lives.
